    Devi Shah is head of Mayer Brown's Restructuring, Bankruptcy & Insolvency group in London. She focuses on all aspects of restructuring and insolvency and has a particular interest in international and cross-border insolvency and restructuring matters, as well as pensions aspects of restructurings.     Jessica Walker is a partner in the Restructuring, Bankruptcy & Insolvency practice of the London office.     We are currently building out our Restructuring, Bankruptcy & Insolvency Practice and have openings for Associates (1 – 4 PQE) and Senior Associates/ Counsel (5 PQE +) to join the team during this exciting period of growth.


    The successful candidates will need to have broad experience in advising on a range of financial restructuring and insolvency matters, acting for debtors, financial institutions, funds, sponsors and boards of directors.  The firm is particularly keen to hire candidates with cross-border/ international experience and will consider candidates with transactional or contentious experience or a mixture of both. 


    Qualified Solicitors (England & Wales) with relevant post qualification experience.

    Key requirements:

    • Experience from a highly ranked international practice or team;
    • Excellent people skills and a good, clear communication style;
    • Energetic and dynamic mind-set, with a desire to get involved in building up the business and marketing a leading restructuring practice.
    • Ability to work effectively within an established, close-knit team;
    • A self-starter, willing to be challenged by taking on work outside their comfort zone
    • Demonstrate ability to confidently interact with clients and develop business pro-actively;
    • A commercial and pragmatic outlook;
    • Experience in advising on cross border matters;
    • Degree educated achieving a minimum grade of 2:1, or equivalent qualification/ experience.
